The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) in Nashville is preparing recommendations for a new rapid transit corridor that will extend from the Five Points area of East Nashville west through downtown Nashville, out through Midtown and then on to the White Bridge Road area of West Nashville. Initially described as the "Broadway/West End Corridor", this proposed rapid transit corridor will connect the many activities and attractions along this corridor with rapid transit travel that will benefit commuters, residents, customers, students, visitors...virtually anyone who wants to be a part of life along this "main street" of not just Nashville, but Middle Tennessee. In fact, the East-West Connector will be the next major step in turning our region's "Bold New Vision for Transit" into reality.
The Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee will be hosting a series of "Community Conversations" to discuss and share ideas about this new rapid transit corridor later in 2012. Click here to be updated on the time and place of these meetings and to be kept up to date each step of the way as this plan evolves.
